On September 15 the Perlan container departed El Calafate, Argentina and on November 6 it arrived two months and over 12,000 kilometers later in Minden, Nevada. It was a excellent trip in the hands of some great companies.
Tribal Trucking took it 3500 kilometers through Argentina, across the Andes mountains with a 10,000 foot pass, to the Pacific port of San Antonio, Chile with Hartrodt exporters from Mendoza. There the container rode with Hamburg Sud on two cargo ships from South America to Central America to Hartrodt importers in Long Beach, California. Doudell Trucking carried it to a seaworthy inspection from Bill Conners, and then 500 miles over 5 mountain passes in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The crane company was at the hangar 15 minutes early and the truck arrived at 11:30. By noon it was off the truck and resting on the railroad ties which Jim had positioned and leveled in preparation for the arrival. Stewart and Elizaberth Tattersall recieved the container at the hangar with some help from Mountain Mike. (Thanks for letting us go to our granddaugter’s first birthday.) I love when a plan comes together–however to be honest I made a zillion phone calls in the past week through this morning to get these final entities meshed together. And that last photo of Stewart by the open container shows him texting me with some additional communications. The successful Airbus Perlan Mission II Argentina Campaign 2017 is officially closed.
