The Perlan 2 is finally on the road to Oshkosh. There was a lot of work done over the last few days by RDD and the Perlan team members. The trailer from Cobra fitted the glider perfectly, which is quite remarkable since Cobra have only ever seen pictures of the glider. The measurements we sent them worked out fine. Of course the actual process of getting all the bolts tightened and adjusted took a lot of work.
We also had to build fittings to protect the glider in transit. The window covers were the major effort there. When you see the glider on display you will only see a small fraction of the work that was done in the last few days.
What you will see is the result of years of work on the actual glider itself. The perfect aerodynamic shape that will fly efficiently at extreme altitude, like no other aircraft ever built. See you on Monday for the big display with Airbus!
