The 2018 Argentina Perlan Team is on the move! The journey is the destination. Ed and Linda Warnock led the first wave.
They made a delightful side trip to Iguazu Falls in the very north of the Argentina/Brazil jungles. Morgan and Sandra Sandercock flew into Buenos Aires early to enjoy family and some official Perlan meetings. Note she is wearing Oregon shirt and he is wearing Argentina shirt! Stewart and Elizabeth Tattersall flew into Mendoza with lots of Perlan luggage to drive Tago’s truck all the way (1700 miles- 2700 km) to El Calafate.
They took the direct Route 40, although it is not paved in sections. The late rising sun makes some great photos. Stewart said after driving around Tahoe for 30 years the snow was welcomed to settle the dust. Our container on the truck will take 3 sides of a rectangle in order to stay on pavement.
It has been cold and snowy this winter in Argentina. It meant the roads through the Andes mountain passes were closed for several days. So our Perlan container had to wait at the Chilean port of San Antonio until the Andes roads were plowed. It is now expected in El Calafate on July 28. Perlan Soars! Jackie
