Loris Gliner became involved with the Perlan Project by developing the Virtual Cockpit, the website displaying the Perlan 2 glider’s position and telemetry data. As part of the team in El Calafate in 2017 and 2018, Loris also developed the Virtual Balloon Cockpit to track the Perlan weather radiosondes and worked on the analysis of the flight test data. Loris graduated with a master’s degree of Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London in summer 2019. He is now working full time for Airbus XO as a research engineer on the Autonomous Taxi, Take-off and Landing (ATTOL) demonstrator aircraft. Loris holds his private pilot license and is currently training to get his mountain rating in the French Alps, where he is originally from.
