Evening with Classical Tahoe and Perlan Project

Feb 19, 2018 | Blog

When Perlan Project was approached by Classical Tahoe to partner in a fundraiser, we said “Yes!” It is always good for a community when two non-profits can work together. As it turned out we hosted two “Evening with Perlan” events. Karen Craig and Laurie Riccardi aided by Lindsay McIntosh organized it beautifully. Jackie coordinated on the Perlan side.

Silvio Riccardi’s oil can welded furniture was so appropos for this event inside Minden-Tahoe Airport hangars. After enjoying nibbles, vino, and conversation we split our guests into very small groups of 3-4. Jim and Jackie made a short presentation about the history, current status, and future of the Perlan Project. Morgan and Sandra Sandercock showed off the actual glider in a nearby hangar. Tim Gardner and Scott Wiley put everyone into the simulator for a chance to fly (or crash  (;>)  !!!) the Perlan 2. We all adjourned to Genoa’s Pink House for a fabulous dinner and more conversation.

Thanks Karen and Laurie for envisioning this fun and productive event. Thanks to Jim and Jackie for driving the glider in the trailer 6 hours from Rosamond, and to Stewart, Scott, Tim, Morgan and Jim for assembling the Perlan 2 for our guests to see in Dennis Tito’s hangar. Thanks to Sandra and Lindsay McIntosh for sharing photos. Perlan Soars High! Jackie
