American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Presentation
On November 30, 2017 Perlan Project gave a talk co-sponsored by China Lake chapter of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the China Lake Museum. The afternoon started with a personally guided tour of the China Lake Museum by Bob Campbell. Bertha Ryan and BJ Holden are long time friends of Perlan and instrumental in setting up this event. Bertha authored the biography of Einar Enevoldson published a few years ago.
The Ridgecrest site has been involved with the development of many new technologies and weapons. From atomic bombs, to tomahawk missiles, to ultrasound, and light sticks to mention only a few. Since Jim's test pilot career included shooting some of their missles and armament I had to grab a photo of him in front of an AIM-9L. Our CEO Ed Warnock spent some years early in his career working at China Lake. The flight test aviation community is a group of interesting characters. Perlan Soars High! Jackie
